Family Self-Sufficiency
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program is a voluntary program for participants in Region VI Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing Programs. Its purpose is to assist families receiving HUD Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance or living in public housing to improve their economic situation and reduce their dependence on public assistance and welfare. Email Kelly or call (575) 622-0881, ext. 204 for more information. Coming Soon! Our FSS newsletter online and a story about a recent graduate of our FSS program!
Resident Council
Our Resident Council is comprised of Section 8 and Public Housing tenants. The council is designed to be a voice for the tenants and to provide a way for residents to communicate with the Authority and have real input into how the program is run. We are in the process of incorporating our Resident Council now! It will be classified as a 501c3 organization. We have parties and other special events, too. Last fall we had a pumpkin carving contest. You can see some of the pumpkins here and here!
